Bone marrow will be hope for couples longing for a baby. The bone marrow method will revolutionize in vitro fertilization practices, especially for older couples who cannot have a baby naturally.

Reproductive Medicine and Surgery Association Chairman of the Board, Gynecology and Obstetrics Specialist Prof. Dr. Recai Pabuçcu stated that “stem cell” applications in IVF treatments are developing day by day, and studies in this area are progressing very rapidly.

Prof. Dr. Pabuçcu explained that in in vitro fertilization treatments, primitive blood cells taken from the umbilical cord can be introduced into the egg, and egg cells can be developed, as well as reproduction from cells and fat tissues in the amniotic fluid.

Thanks to the “bone marrow”, pregnancy will also be possible in menopausal patients.

Pabuçcu emphasized that the studies remained in the “experimental” stage for a long time, but that the results obtained were published by gaining momentum in the last 3-4 years.

“With the cells obtained by giving the stem cells prepared from the bone marrow to the ovaries, both pregnancies will be possible and the aging of women will be reduced and postponed.” Pabuçcu said that 3 of 20 patients who had menopause during the treatment applied in the USA became pregnant spontaneously and 3 of them became pregnant by in vitro fertilization.
